Aug. 16 vs. Veterans The Warhawks will move into a region with two defending state champs in Coffee and Thomas County Central. Veterans is 2-0 all-time against Jones County.
Aug. 23 vs. Woodland The Wolfpack move back into the Greyhounds’ region and went 0-10 last year.
Aug. 30 vs. Hampton The Hornets have been playing football since 2014 and advanced to the state playoffs three out of the past five years in AAAA.
Sept. 6 at Ola The Mustangs have gotten used to winning, starting 4-0 last year. Dustin Adkins, previously at Hawthorne, Fla., takes over as head coach after Tom Causey took the same position at Miller County.
Sept. 13 vs. Union Grove Greg Harris takes over as head coach for the Wolverines, who won a combined five games the last two years.
Sept. 27 at Stockbridge The Tigers came up a game shy of being Henry County’s first state football champion a season ago and are the last Henry County team to beat the Greyhounds in a game contested outside of Jones County. Georgia running back commitment Bo Walker transferred to Stockbridge from Cedar Grove in the offseason, though his eligibility remains unknown at this time.
Oct. 4 vs. McDonough The Warhawks’ 295 points scored last year was their most in a single season since 2011.
Oct. 11 at ELCA A Class A Private team in 2021 and in AA the last two years, the Chargers are the region’s most decorated team with seven state titles, all in Class A.
Oct. 25 vs. Eagles Landing The Eagles’ three-win season last year was their second season with at least that many victories since the start of 2018.
Nov. 1 vs. Locust Grove Garry Fisher is the Wildcats’ third head coach in school history.
