Howard, UGA stay hot, begin SEC play next
Destin Howard helped 18th-ranked Georgia to a 14-8 win on Friday against Ball State, giving up a run and a hit as a reliever and the Lady Bulldogs went 4-1 in the Bulldog Classic to go with wins against Samford as well. Georgia opens SEC play this weekend in hosting Auburn.
Camryn James and South Georgia Tech captured the GCAA Region XVII title on Saturday, beating East Georgia 67-52. James came off the bench to score 13 points and grab ten rebounds in the win. The Jets (31-1, 15-0) play Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday in the NJCAA Southeast District Championship.
Jacob Thompson picked up his second win of the season for Brevard College last week, running his record to 2-0 in a 10-8 win against Piedmont. In three appearances so far this year, Thompson has two wins. Brevard returns to action March 17 at Southern Virginia.
