CRMS splits two
Clifton Ridge split a pair of baseball games last week, falling 8-6 to Upson Lee and beating Pike County 13-5. Chase Hasty gave up four runs over three and two-thirds of an inning, getting the win with Avery Horne coming along in relief in the final two and one-third of inning. At the plate, Micah Howard ripped a two-run homer with hits coming from Chase Hasty, MJ Lane, Gavin Simon, Avery Gordon and Aaron Vaughan.
CRMS plays Thursday at Byron and takes on Gray Station at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cecil Patterson Field at JCHS. Gray Station plays at Upson Lee on Thursday.
Middle school girls roll over Monroe
Jones County claimed a 4-1 win on the pitch in girls middle score soccer action last Friday against Monroe County. Jones County picked up two goals from Isabella Bodnarchuk, two from Emory Sanford and another for Caroline Rickman. Jones County’s girls also beat Monticello 2-1 on Monday. Both middle school teams host Henderson Middle on Thursday.
