Ragins transferring to Mississippi State; other former Hounds in transfer portalAt least one former Greyhound football standout is on the move prior to next season, and a few others could be doing likewise by way of the transfer portal.

The Lady Greyhounds are now more than halfway there through the region title race. And their hopes to repeat as region champions are a lot more than living on a prayer.After a 93-21 road flummoxing of McDonough on Saturday, Jones County is 12-4 overall and 9-1 in the region.

The turning of the calendar to 2026 saw play continuing at the Government Center Gymnasium last week for Jones County Parks & Recreation’s youth basketball leagues.Competition last week included the boys instructional league, which hosted three games on Friday night.
