Not too long after the pickleball courts at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex opened in 2022, a problem, albeit one that is good to have, presented itself.Last Friday, just down the hill from those six courts, the solution to that was celebrated.

Most meets during track and field season end up being contested during daylight hours. Jones County’s distance runners were part of an outlier to that last week, shining under the bright lights of the Friday Night Lights at Starr’s Mill event.

Golf teams split with Lamar in addition to tourney play

Play of both the match and tournament varieties came the way of the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds last week, as both teams split with Lamar County as well as the boys finishing sixth in the Jim Hickman Invitational and the Lady Hounds placing seventh in the Bear Invitational.
