The Greyhounds picked up a split on the links last week, navigating the cold and wind to top GMC Prep before dropping a match against ACE Charter at River North Country Club.JCHS posted an overall score of 167 against GMC to win by six strokes.

The field of entrants was bigger than anything that the Jones County track and field teams had seen so far this season at Saturday’s Eagles Landing Chick-fil-A Invitational. In fact, it was the first formal time competing for some track athletes since the season began.

Jones County’s middle school schedule rolled on within the soccer ranks last week as both teams hosted Pike County amid windy and chilly conditions. The Lady Hounds battled back to cut the deficit in half during the second half, falling 2-1, while the boys dropped their match 7-2.
Competing a few hours from home on Saturday, the Gym Hounds returned to Gray with a third-place finish in a competitive field of 11 teams in the Viking Gymnastics Invitational. Golf Hounds, Lady Hounds claim home-course win

An early-season win on their home course came the way for the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds last Thursday at Lake Jonesco Golf Course with both teams picking up a win against Ace Charter.“We feel really good overall; we had some good things happen,” said Greyhounds head golf coach Lance Pittman.
