Friends & Family Showcase on Oct. 10The cheerleading programs throughout the Jones County School System will host their annual Friends & Family Night Showcase on Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the JCHS Gymnasium.

The official start of basketball season is still a few weeks away with the first day of actual practice allowed by the GHSA being Oct. 21.But that does not mean there’s a lack of work going on around the hardwood in Jones County.

Not long after Friday’s game at Greyhound Field as Jones County players slowly trickled out of the field house to greet friends and family, a replica championship belt was being carried around by the Greyhounds defensive players, signifying a late-game turnover.
