Lake Jonesco offers venue for golfers of all levels

Open since 1936, Lake Jonesco Golf Course offers golfers of a wide range of skill levels an 18-hole course of 6,544 yards from the longest tee to hit the links. The layout includes Bermuda fairways and greens with a course pro in addition to club and cart rentals.

Jones County is now home to an NCAA national champion.Shareez Hamm, formerly a two-sport standout athlete for Jones County, ran to NCAA Division II National Title in the 400-meter hurdles for Academy of Art University at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals on Saturday in Emporia, Kansas.
