The Jones County High School Unified Special Olympics will host a Bingo fundraiser at the JCHS cafeteria May 10, 6 p.m.(dinner) and 7 p.m. (Bingo).A spaghetti dinner will be served by Woodmen Life.Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, tea/lemonade, and a dessert for $10 per plate.

GES succeed with Kids Heart Challenge

This year, Gray Elementary School raised $2,149.70 for the American Heart Association through Kids Heart Challenge (KHC).Our top three fundraising students were Aiden Allen, Mallie Morris and Charley Jackson. They each received the rare Buster keychain.

The Jones County News salutes the local Veteran of the Week

Calvin McDaniel is the local veteran of the week. He turned 18 in 1942 and joined the Navy as soon as he could. He was in the Air Corps and had basic training in Bainbridge, Md.He was stationed aboard an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific but never went into battle.
