Gray Elementary School held their annual Grandparents Day Breakfast Sept. 11 and 12, welcoming grandparents into the school to spend some quality time with their grandchildren who attend the school.

Ambi Rae and Allure celebrate first anniversary

Ambi Rae Boutique and Allure Beauty Bar have been in business in Gray for a year now, working alongside each other with their separate businesses, but maintaining a close family-like relationship. Both businesses are located at 109 Atlanta Road in downtown Gray.

Jones County’s Cry Out America event Sept. 11 held at Carol’s Park was attended by an estimated crowd of 75 people and included 26 first responders, who were each honored with a Patriot Flag pin and a tube of Life Savers candy. The ceremony consisted of the introductions and job descriptions of first responders and group readings of decrees and declarations based. The event was organized by Debra Hall, who said it was a very blessed and moving ceremony. CONTRIBUTED

JCFD Annual BBQ Jones County Fire Department Station 8 on Gray Highway is having its annual Open House and Barbecue fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It will be prepared by Station 8’s Cooking Crew and include their own local “Snow’s Famous Brunswick Stew.
