Salem AME Church Men’s Day Program Salem AME Church, 141 Holloman Road, will have a Men’s Day Program Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Anthony Stewart from New Friendship Baptist Church will deliver the message. There will be a three-day revival starting on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.

Members met Feb. 7 for installation of officers for 2023. They are president Vicki Bilderback, vice president Betty Hotchkiss, secretary Ruth Hartzog, treasurer Doris Thompson and parliamentarian Barbara Robinson. Plans were made to sale day lilies at an upcoming festival in Gray in April and at the Day Lily Show in June. CONTRIBUTED

Vernon Kirk Choates is the local veteran of the week. He was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving from April 30, 1973 - May 13, 1976. He did his basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and was also stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, and in Korea. He was also a Hawk FC crewman.
