Jones County’s newest school principal was introduced at July’s Board of Education meeting, which was the last meeting before the beginning of a new school year.The July 9 meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Ginger Bailey. All board members were present except Dr. Nancy Nash.

Members of a local church recently came together to celebrate and support one of its own and usher him into manhood.St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Clinton held a Rites of Passage Ceremony June 23 for Caleb Bush.
The Jones County Kiwanis club donated $1,500 to the Jesus’ Hands Ministry recently. Charles Newberry, president of the Kiwanis Club, presented the gift to Trish Ash. The ministry feeds children during the summer when their parents work or are otherwise unable to provide meals for them and school lunches and breakfasts are not available. Ash previously spoke to the club concerning the ministry, which is entirely volunteer.
