New treatment plant, water well moving forward

Man pleads guilty to burning cabin, starting forest fire

A 2022 arson case was resolved with a guilty plea in Jones County Superior Court last week. Michael James Authement entered a plea Jan. 25 to the charge of arson in the first degree.

A Middle Georgia man with a history of arson and sending death threats – including against Jones County officials – pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to mailing threatening communications to government officials.
