Members of the Gray Downtown Development Authority received a visit from the new superintendent for the Jones County School System at their February meeting.The Feb. 9 meeting was called to order by Chairman Sherri Rollins, and the opening prayer was led by DDA Member David Tufts.

Husband pleads guilty to vehicular homicide

The resolution to charges filed against a Forsyth man charged with vehicular homicide, following the death of his wife, took place in Jones County Superior Court last week, but he will live with the consequences of his actions for the remainder of his life.

Assessors to continue working with appraisal company

The Jones County Board of Tax Assessors voted to extend the contract with the appraisal services company performing the countywide revaluations at its February meeting.Prior to the Feb. 5 meeting, Jones County Superior Court Clerk Pam Dixon swore in the two board members whose terms expired Dec. 31.

Robotics Team celebrates regional championship

The Gray Station Middle School (GSMS) Robotics team celebrated a major milestone this winter after earning the title of Grand Champion at the First Lego League regional competition held at Middle Georgia State University.
