BOE recognizes literacy leaders, student achievement

The Jones County Board of Education celebrated the hard work of literacy and math teachers and student achievements at its January business meeting and voted to implement a significant change for future board meetings. The Jan. 13 meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Ginger Bailey.

Guilty plea results in 15-year sentence on probation

A Macon man recently received a sentence of 15 years in Jones County Superior Court for drug and traffic charges.Corey Lashon Willis was in court Jan. 5 to plead guilty to the charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and driving while license suspended.
