Greyhounds win three in a row

The environment and types of opponents were varied for the Greyhounds last week, but the end result was the same for Jones County with three wins in a row to run its record to 3-1. It all began last Tuesday at home against Peach County.

Winter sports host media night

Winter sports are inching into their seasons for JCHS student athletes. Coaches and players from each got their chance to preview what to expect and look toward what lies ahead during last Thursday’s Winter Sports Media Day held at JCHS.

Take It Outside:

The NHL has the Outdoor Classic. The WCW had the Bash At The Beach. This Saturday, the Greyhounds wrestling program will have its own way of taking things outdoors. Saturday, Nov. 25, won’t just mean the Main Street Gray Hometown Christmas Market and Tree Lighting.

Jingle Ball Pickleball Tourney set Dec. 2 to benefit DFACS

Jones County Pickleball will host a Jingle Ball Tournament Dec. 2 at 9 a.m. The tournament is a mixed doubles format, and the entry fee is $40 per person. Those participating are asked to bring an unwrapped sports ball of their choice at the tournament and to wear their jingle bells as well.

Lady Hounds wear down opposition for two victories

A pair of early-game takeovers helped the Lady Greyhounds win a pair of games last week to improve their record to 2-1. A tight back-and-forth game against Peach County last Tuesday turned into a blowout with the Lady Greyhounds going on to win 60-42. The big margins of victory did not cease there.

Bell helps lead Bulldogs past Volunteers Saturday

Georgia’s Dillon Bell had himself a game against Tennessee in a 38-10 win on Saturday. Bell, a sophomore offensive weapon for the Bulldogs, completed one pass for an 18-yard touchdown. He also had a rush for four yards while adding five receptions for 90 yards and a score. “Great competitor.
