BONAIRE – Jones County kicked off competition cheerleading season on Saturday at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic hosted by Houston County.

Greyhounds flatten Locust Grove in record-breaking shutout

With homecoming festivities as the backdrop and further injuries flushing a handful of younger Greyhounds into greater roles, the Greyhounds got back on track in a large way Friday in record-breaking fashion.

Offense, pitching depth help Lady Hounds hit stride

Earlier this season, fellow region frontrunners Locust Grove and Ola handed the Lady Hounds a pair of losses, the latter of which was by eight runs. But the past week has shown that Jones County is doing what it expects to do during this key point of the season.

Volley Hounds continue surge toward region matches

The Volley Hounds continued their late-season push that includes a scheduled Sept. 27 tri-match against Ola, Warner Robins and Dutchtown, taking on a mix of non-region foes last week.

Bennett, Bowers lead Georgia past Gamecocks in SEC opener

The pair of Stetson Bennett and Brock Bowers led No. 1 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) past South Carolina (1-2, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday. The Bulldogs dominated the Gamecocks in a 48-7 rout at Williams-Brice Stadium. Bennett finished the contest by completing 16-of-23 passes for 284 yards and a pair of TDs.
