Hounds end non-region schedule with stumble against Peach County

Part of facing a challenging non-region schedule for any football team is the expectation that waves of adversity will be encountered. That certainly found its way to the Greyhounds on Friday against Peach County.

Cheer clinic set for Oct. 1 The JCHS cheerleading program will host its future cheerleading clinic on Oct. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cheer Factory. Open to ages PreK through fifth grade, the cost is $35 per participant and includes a t-shirt and cheer bow.

Cross country teams strive for greater heights; JV boys take second

The expectations continue to be high for the Jones County cross country program. As part of that, when it’s time for runners to compete, there is an expectation to perform at a certain standard. Last week showed that the expectation goes beyond just the top runners.

Offensive woes stymie Bulldogs from scoring more against Samford

Georgia’s offense struggled against FCS opponent Samford on Saturday, especially in the red zone. Despite dominating the visiting Bulldogs 33-0, the No. 2 Bulldogs felt like they underperformed.

Bulldogs shift focus to South Carolina

Top-ranked Georgia (2-0) will now shift focus to South Carolina (1-1, 0-1 SEC) after defeating FCS opponent Samford 33-0 in its home opener last Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Meanwhile, No. 10 Arkansas defeated the Gamecocks 44-30 this past weekend.

Clifton Ridge Middle continued its season last Wednesday, falling 32-0 to Upson Lee. CRMS, which matched up this past Wednesday in the annual cross-county match up against Gray Station, hosts Henderson next Wednesday in its _nal home game of the season.

Volley Hounds primed for region play

The Volley Hounds met the opportunity for a next step forward earlier this week for the opening of region play. But before seeking the first region win in program history, JCHS entered that span following a tough loss to Mary Persons.

Hounds dropped by Perry in home opener

By design, the Greyhounds grueling non-region schedule of teams that were in their classification’s top eight teams a season is built to challenge them prior to getting into region play. Jones County got that and then some from Perry in Friday’s home opener at Greyhound Field.
