Hounds down Dacula ahead of home opener against Perry

DACULA - They may have been further from home than the week before, but the result was similar for the Greyhounds. Keyed by coming up with an early turnover, Jones County led early before dropping the hammer in the second half in scoring 21 unanswered points to win.

Hounds, Lady Hounds continuing quick pace

As Jones County’s crosscountry teams headed to Whitesburg last Saturday for the Bob Blastow Invitational, the question was how the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds would fare in setting high personal marks in an event that also included runners from powerhouse programs in the Atlanta area.

The middle school football season is underway in Jones County following the fi rst games being played for local teams. Gray Station opened its schedule in hosting Fort Valley Middle last Wednesday. After rallying back to match an early score by the visitors, GSMS fell short, 22-6.

Bond commits to Memphis football

One of the biggest senior-class recruiting targets for the Greyhounds has made his decision. Jones County running back/defensive back Javious Bond put his college commitment in place last week, officially committing to continue his football career with The University of Memphis.
