Two region matches in the books, two region wins for the Lady Greyhounds.With the venture into the region play, the challenge was expected to pick up for a Jones County team that coasted through a non-region schedule with the exception of state powerhouse FPD.

Hounds split, Lady Hounds come up just short to ACE

The Greyhounds picked up a split on the links last week, navigating the cold and wind to top GMC Prep before dropping a match against ACE Charter at River North Country Club.JCHS posted an overall score of 167 against GMC to win by six strokes.

Robinson leads way for JCHS at Chick-fil-A Invitational

The field of entrants was bigger than anything that the Jones County track and field teams had seen so far this season at Saturday’s Eagles Landing Chick-fil-A Invitational. In fact, it was the first formal time competing for some track athletes since the season began.

Middle school soccer hosts Pike County

Jones County’s middle school schedule rolled on within the soccer ranks last week as both teams hosted Pike County amid windy and chilly conditions. The Lady Hounds battled back to cut the deficit in half during the second half, falling 2-1, while the boys dropped their match 7-2.

The JCHS tennis program recognized its senior class prior to last Tuesday’s match against Stockbridge. Those being honored were Wesley Maynard, Brayden Chapman, Emily Parks, Matthew O’Neal, Lyndsie Hanner, Sid Giles and Nahlia Richardson.
