Citizens clean up community

A group of citizens from across Jones County gathered on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 7, for a roadside cleanup along Griswoldville Rd. Organized by Alex Lefholz and Dustin Riley, the effort resulted in the collection of 31 bags of trash from the roadside and adjacent wood lines.

Joseph Benjamin Jackson, Jr. is the local veteran of the week. He served in the United States Marine Corps. as a Lance Corp. from 1941 to 1945. After he completed his basic training at Paris Island, SC, he was assigned to the Accounting Dept. at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
