Mountain bike trail on track for south complex

The bid to construct a mountain bike trail on county property near the Mattie Wells Community Center was awarded at the first Tuesday Commissioners meeting, getting one step closer to the project becoming reality.

1st Choice Heating & Air is now available for the Jones County community to receive their heating and air services from a local source that is family owned. The business is located at 1803 Highway 49 in Gray, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sex offender denied access to public park

A Jones County Probationer serving his sentence under sex offender conditions was denied his request to worship in a public park in Macon, which required an exception to the sex offender conditions to be allowed.

17-year-old indicted for dangerous prank at high school

A dangerous prank by Jones County High School students led to arrests of the juveniles and the indictment of the 17-year-old involved. Khallid Aqeel Muhammad was indicted by a Jones County Grand Jury June 28 for three counts of aggravated assault.
