Middle school wrestlers take fifth in state tourney

Jones County’s middle school wrestlers served plenty of notice to the state on Saturday about what is to come for the future of Greyhound wrestling. Competing in the state duals at West Laurens, Jones County placed fifth.

JCHS ending week with two games in two days after schedule shuffle

When the Greyhounds and Lady Hounds aim for a region tournament title next month, all they’ll need to do is win multiple games over a short span of days. They’ll get a slice of that intensity within a short timeframe this week.

Hounds’ Patterson named head coach at Baldwin

The Greyhounds will have at least one new coach on their coaching staff going into spring practice after Kevin Patterson accepted the head coaching job at nearby Baldwin. Patterson’s hiring was announced last Tuesday by the Baldwin County Board of Education.

The Lady Greyhounds went on the road Friday and came away with a solid hold on third place in the region. Jones County passed the halfway turn of the region slate with a gritty 32-30 win against Dutchtown, a team that JCHS usually ends up neck-and-neck with for a state tournament berth.
