Greyhounds build on success with enthusiastic offseason

Coming off a season in which the Greyhounds were consistently one of the top teams in the region and a strong contender for a spot in the state team duals championships, building on that success has continued during the summer.

Hounds wrap up first month of offseason workouts

The Greyhounds first month of summer voluntary workouts came to a close last week with weather forcing the adjustment of previously-set activity. JCHS, now in the midst of a two-week break, will resume work in July following the GHSA’s second dead week from July 3-9.

10U Prodigy wins Perfect Game Gulf Coast World Series

A local 10U all-star team returned from Florida earlier this month with the first-place trophy in the Perfect Game Gulf Coast World Series. The team, Prodigy, went 6-2 in the tournament held in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., rallying from a slow start in pool play.

Although inclement weather shortened things, there was no shortage of enthusiasm around the nets last week during the annual JCHS tennis camp. Taking advantage of great conditions for the sport of tennis, campers were introduced to the basics of the game throughout the camp’s duration.
