The Kiwanis Club presented a donation of $1,416 to Scout Troop 485 recently. Scoutmaster Max Wood received the donation from Kiwanis President Durrett Childs. Wood gave the club an update of Kiwanis activities and a report on the condition of the Eston Altman Scouting Center. Troop485hasbeeninexistencesince 1963 and has been sponsored by Kiwanis since its inception.

Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Ramsdell of Gray announce with great pride the graduation of their daughter, Havanna Leigh Ramsdell, from The University of Georgia this summer with a Master’s Degree in Comparative Biomedical Sciences.
Mrs. Ann Carter, president of Les Dames Magnifique presented the scholarship to Miss Shayla Pennington on Honors Night at Jones County High School. Shayla will receive part of the money for her first semester and the remainder for her second semester at the college of her choice.

Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) recently swore in new volunteer Arlin Brown, pictured with Juvenile Court Judge Kelli Rutherford. Brown will serve as a voice for children in foster care in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, which covers Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam and Wilkinson counties.

Gray Garden Club hosts daylily contest and sale

The Gray Garden Club hosted their annual daylily contest and daylily sale recently at the W.E. Knox Civic Center, showing off the flowers and using the funds to beautify Gray.
