Football, Cheerleading Registrations are still being accepted for youth football and cheerleading for this fall’s season in Jones County. Registration is $130 per person and is open through Aug. 1. There will be a mandatory uniform fitting, and a birth certificate should be brought when signing up.

We have all heard people say, “Oh yeah, Jim has prostate cancer but it won’t kill him. He will die from something else.” After lung cancer, prostate cancer is the second deadliest form of cancer among American men.
The Kiwanis Club presented a donation of $1,416 to Scout Troop 485 recently. Scoutmaster Max Wood received the donation from Kiwanis President Durrett Childs. Wood gave the club an update of Kiwanis activities and a report on the condition of the Eston Altman Scouting Center. Troop485hasbeeninexistencesince 1963 and has been sponsored by Kiwanis since its inception.
