A Jones County defendant entered a guilty plea to the charge of aggravated assault and received a 10-year sentence for the offense.Jameson Tyler Keys was arrested on the charges of aggravated assault, simple battery and criminal trespass March 13, all under the family violence act.

Longtime educator honored with tree on Arbor Day

Jones County celebrated Arbor Day by recognizing a local icon who served the Jones County School System for 30 years.The April 26 event was organized by Keep Jones Beautiful Executive Director Hailey Robinson and was held at the Board of Education office on Stewart Avenue.
