The Greyhounds didn’t just walk into the halfway point of the season on Friday at Union Grove. They ran.With a trio of backs sharing the load, Jones County rushed for nearly 300 yards in a 42-3 win over the Wolverines.

Ranchers Release the Hounds Invitational to draw teams to Gray

Most of the cross country season sees the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds cross country runners either rise in the pre-dawn hours or spend the night before a meet on the road to get ready to compete out of town in various meets.

Lady Hounds begin second half of region with three wins

After wrapping up the first half of the region schedule solidly in second place, the Lady Greyhounds now turn their attention to staying there and also being in position to tie for first place at the end of the regular season.

The Greyhounds ran into their first open weekend on the heels of a big win on Friday night, rolling all over Union Grove in a 42-3 win. Jones County got three touchdown runs by Travis Miller and one by Bruno Hicks in Friday's win that improved the Greyhounds to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the region.

Big inning sinks Lady Hounds in first-place showdown

In any softball game, especially one between two evenly matched teams, a multi-run inning can change the game’s dynamics. Such was the case last Wednesday when Jones County hosted Ola in a game with sole possession of first place in the region at stake.
